Lightweight Motocross Club started the 2020 season well by getting the season underway and completing Rounds 1, 2 and 3 of the Arenacross events, and also many fundraising AX practice nights to help fund the new AX LED Lighting upgrades.
Then, unfortunately the season was suspended and all social gatherings restricted due to COVID-19. We thank everyone for adhering to the government advice and instructions these past few months and hope to get back to normality soon.
The Board and all members are excited to return to racing, as soon as allowable, albeit under new rules, conditions and a modified events calendar 2020. We are hopeful to successfully complete the year with our MX Club Runs and AX Events.
A modified 2020 Calendar has been posted, to accommodate predicted racing commencement in July (Members Page link), under the control of Motorcycling Australia. MA have prepared and published a detailed MA Event COVID-19 Participant Information Checklist for all riders and participants to follow. Click here to head over to the Motorcycling Australia website page and here to view and download the checklist.
Dear Lightweight Community
With the conclusion of the Mx season, we have also concluded the trial with a flag levy. After a review both at the board level and with members at the recent General Meeting, the club has decided that we will not continue the flag levy at this point.
Lightweight will return to our previous practice with the “No Helper, No Ride” policy. This means, you will NOT be able to ride if you do not supply a helper on practice and race day. This will be non-negotiable. Should you not be able to provide a helper, it will be your responsibility to either pay someone to flag for you or find someone who can tag-team with you- or you will not ride.
AX Practice Night
Our first AX practice night for the second part of the Ax season will take place on Wednesday October 14th, with gates opening at 3:30pm, sign on starting from 4pm, Juniors riding at 5pm and Seniors at 7:30pm.
Practice fees are $20 for members and $40 for non-members. Please be aware that everyone will need to be prepared to supply a flaggy on the night.
AX Points Event #4
Race night is coming- who else can’t wait???? Mark your calendars with Saturday October 17th and let’s get ready to race!!!! All details will be posted on Facebook, just click on the events post!
With the change from motocross to arenacross about to take place, Lightweight will be putting on a busy bee of epic proportions on Saturday October 10th, starting at 8:30am and going for most of the day.
This will be one of the biggest busy bees of the year, as we will be moving equipment from one track to the other. We encourage ALL members to attend, and you are most welcome to bring the kids too as there will be tasks for everyone.
Please give your club a hand and for those who can, please bring whipper-snippers, petrol high pressure cleaners and trailers- we will be whipper snippering around the arenax track, moving equipment and pressure cleaning canteens and toilet blocks for a start!
At lunch time the club will be putting on a sausage sizzle, so we can all refuel and socialise a little bit- we hope to see you all there!
